Chef Phong Vo is a Vancouver, BC, Canada based chef by trade. He has honed his culinary skills by working in a variety of cuisine styles, from Italian, French, Vietnamese, Japanese, to vegetarian. “Taste everything. Cook everything. Learn everything.” That was his motto as he ascended in ranks amongst the restaurant industry. Chef Phong Vo quickly learned the trade of running successful kitchens and businesses and advanced to Executive Chef to notable establishments like Heirloom Vegetarian (nominated best new restaurant by Air Canada), Artisan Tea Bar (awarded Bronze for Reader’s Best Choice Tea House by Westender), House Special Modern Vietnamese, and Yuzu Ramen & Izakaya.
Chef Phong Vo has made several apperances on CTV Morning News, CTV Lunch News, Global TV, City TV, Georgia Strait, and Westender. His cooking philosophy is respecting the ingredients and not overcomplicating things. Let good-quality ingredients speak for themselves while applying some creative flair. Phong is still pursing new ways to enjoy favourite dishes. His mission is to get people to fall in love with Asian cuisine all over again at the Ampersand Bistro & Bar.
